Lowe's Scholarship Programs

Dec. 20, 2010

Lowe's offers two scholarship programs to our employees and the community: the Lowe's Scholarship, available to high school students throughout the United States, and the Carl Buchan Scholarship, for employees, their spouses/domestic partners and their dependents.

Both scholarship programs are funded by Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation and managed by Lowe's College Recruiting department.

Scholarship applicants are reviewed and recipients are selected by International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS).

The Lowe's Scholarship

Eligibility

The Lowe's Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time at any accredited two- or four-year college or university within the United States for the 2011-2012 school year. All members of the community are eligible to apply.

Awards
Lowe's will award 140 $2,500 scholarships. Lowe's reserves the right to make changes to award amounts at any time for any reason.

The Carl Buchan Scholarship

Eligibility
The Carl Buchan Scholarship is open to full- and part-time regular employees, their spouses or domestic partners and their dependents. Eligible applicants are all students who plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study at any accredited two- or four-year college or university within the United States for the 2011-2012 school year. (This includes high school seniors in addition to college students.)

Awards
Lowe's will award 50 $5,000 Carl Buchan Scholarships annually.

Additional Information

Winners for both scholarships will be selected based on GPA (minimum of 3.25 required) and record of leadership experience, work experience and/or community involvement.

All scholarship award recipients can use the scholarship at any accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school in the United States. The scholarship may be used to support tuition, fees, books, lab fees or required class supplies.

Awards are not renewable; however, students can reapply each year as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements. (For the Carl Buchan Scholarship, previous award winners do not need to meet the employment requirement in order to re-apply). In addition, a student may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award.
